30-60-90 day plan for a sales interview: how to present it
Presenting a plan next week? This page covers the talk: five minutes, one measure per phase and answers to follow-ups. To write the plan itself, use the template in our AE 30-60-90-day plan guide.
Hiring managers ask for the plan to see how you think about the job. Keep it to one page. Present it in five minutes.
What goes in each phase
Days 1 to 30: learn.
- Meet the team and the key customers.
- Study the product, the pipeline and lost deals.
- Agree the goals for the next two months with your manager.
Days 31 to 60: start selling with support.
- Work a starter list of accounts.
- Book first meetings and run early calls with a colleague.
- Share what you have learned about the buyer.
Days 61 to 90: own the number.
- Work the full territory.
- Show a pipeline that covers the target.
- Agree the plan for the next quarter.
Add numbers
Each phase needs one measure. Examples are meetings booked, pipeline created and a forecast. Use ranges and say they are draft. Ask the manager what the real targets are.

Answer follow-up questions
- "What if the pipeline is empty?" Start with named accounts and ask for introductions.
- "What would you do differently?" Say you would adjust once you see real data.
- "Why this order?" Explain that learning first stops wasted effort.
