SDR cost per meeting calculator: what one meeting costs you
Try it: cost of one meeting
The defaults are example figures, not benchmarks. Replace them with your own.
With the defaults, a rep on £55,000 OTE costs £5,671 a month and holds 10 meetings. That is £567 per held meeting. If the AE accepts 45%, it is £1,260 per accepted meeting.
How the calculator works
- Monthly pay is OTE divided by 12.
- On-costs add your percentage on top. Use your finance team's figure for pension, insurance and tax.
- Tools and data are added as a flat monthly cost.
- The total divides by meetings held, then by meetings the AE accepts.
What it leaves out
- Manager time, recruitment fees and desk costs.
- Ramp months, when a new rep holds fewer meetings. Use the ramp quota calculator to set those goals.
- The value of a meeting. Compare the cost with your average deal and your meeting to opportunity rate.
Use it to test a decision
- Change meetings held to see the cost across your team's range.
- Change the acceptance rate to see what better targeting is worth.
- Add a tool cost. See how many extra meetings it needs to pay for itself.
Next, see the dials per day calculator for the activity behind each meeting. The comp plan calculator models pay on a good and a bad month.
Questions
How do you calculate cost per meeting for an SDR?
Add pay, on-costs and tools for a month. Divide by meetings held in that month.
Should cost per meeting use held or accepted meetings?
Track both. Held shows what the rep delivers. Accepted shows what the AE can use.
Does the calculator include recruitment and management cost?
No. Add them to the tools figure as a monthly amount if you want a fuller number.
