SDR meeting handoff notes: seven fields an AE needs
An AE who gets no notes starts the meeting from zero. A short handoff note lets the AE ask better questions and accept the meeting with confidence.

The seven fields
- Company, size and the buyer's role.
- Why the buyer took the meeting, in the buyer's words.
- The problem the buyer named.
- What they use today.
- Who else is involved in the decision.
- Timing, if the buyer gave any.
- Agreed next step, with date and time.
If the buyer did not say it, write "not asked". Do not guess.
Example
- Company: 80-person logistics firm, finance director.
- Why: "Approvals take three days and suppliers chase us."
- Problem: late supplier payments.
- Today: email and a shared spreadsheet.
- Others: operations manager joins.
- Timing: wants a fix before year end.
- Next step: Thursday 10:00, 20 minutes.

Use it to improve acceptance
Ask the AE to accept or reject each meeting within one working day. Record the reason when rejected. Review the reasons in the weekly 1:1. If several rejections cite the same missing field, add it to the call script.
Acceptance feeds the meeting to opportunity rate. Show both on the SDR KPI dashboard.
Keep it short
A note should take two minutes to write and one to read. Five lines are better than a page. Use the same layout every time so AEs find each field quickly.
Next step: review the calls behind the notes with the free SDR call scorecard.
Questions
What should an SDR include in a meeting handoff?
Company, role, reason for the meeting and the problem. Add current tools, other people involved, timing and the next step.
Who writes the handoff note?
The SDR who booked the meeting, before the AE's prep time.
Should the note go in the CRM or the calendar invite?
Put it in the CRM record. Link it from the invite so the AE has one place to look.
