Reply to "how much does it cost": two word-for-word answers
Want a ready reply for this one? The SDR Toolkit has it inside the Cadence Builder, with call openers and exit rules, £12.99 + VAT.
A price question is a buying signal. Answer honestly and move to the next step.
Word-for-word replies
Reply A, with a range: "It depends on team size. Most customers pay between X and Y. A specialist can give you a number for your team in fifteen minutes. Does Thursday work?"
Reply B, without a range: "I do not want to guess and be wrong. The account executive can quote you properly. Can I book fifteen minutes?"
Do
- Use a range only if your company allows it.
- Link price to the next step.
- Note that the buyer asked in the handoff.
See inside
Avoid
- Dodging the question.
- Guessing a number.
- Offering a discount.
Next step
Add "asked about price" to the handoff note. It tells the account executive the buyer is serious.

Questions
Should an SDR give a price on a first call?
Only a range your company approves. Otherwise book the account executive.
Is a price question a good sign?
Often yes. Record it in the handoff note.
What if I do not know the price?
Say so and book a call with someone who does.
