SDR and BDR ramp time: a 30/60/90-day onboarding plan that works
The average SDR is fully ramped in about three months and stays for under two years. That leaves roughly 20 productive months, so every week you shave off ramp matters.
SDR (sales development representative) and BDR (business development representative) are the same job at most companies: the reps who create first meetings for account executives. Some firms use SDR for inbound and BDR for outbound. Everything here applies to both.

Make it stick
- Give every new hire a buddy and a weekly ramp dashboard.
- Co-listen live at least weekly for the first 60 days.
- Hire in cohorts where you can, so new starters learn together.
- Set internal targets such as a first held meeting by week 4 and a first accepted opportunity by week 8.
- Review the programme after each cohort using ramp time and attainment in months 4-6.
